Bald Head Island
Bald Head Island is a very small village, which is located in the United States on the east side of Cape Fear River of Brunswick County, North Corolina. It is also known as Smith Island. The entry of cars is not allowed in the village and because of this residents use electric golf carts. The place is very popular for its natural beauty, location and nature.
Bald Head Island is a great location for film shooting. In 1989, the film 'Weekend at Bernir's' has used the location for primary filming. It is true that the island is very small but had a major role in two wars of America.
Bald Island is place where you will find beauty at every corner of the Island. You can enjoy with your family and friends. The place is the best place that you couldn't control to drop their once in your life. The Golf course is also available there or you can just enjoy the point of the cape fear.
The village is having total area of about 5.8 square miles from which about 4.3 square miles is land and about 1.5 square miles is water. In all there are three beaches on this bald island. According to survey of 2000 there were only 173 people, 71 families and 88 residents in the Bald Island village.
The population was included with 5.8% people who were under the age of 18, 1.2% were of age group between 18 to 24, 11% were with the age group of 25 to 44 and remaining age group of 45 to 64 % was of 18.5%.
