'Denny's' is a restaurant and coffee shop chain in United States. There are about 1500 restaurants under Denny in the countries like United States, Curacao, Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Japan, EI Salvador, New Zealand and Mexico. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. Most of their restaurants are located in service areas and freeway exits. The plus point of the restaurant is it remains open on holidays also.
The restaurant was founded in 1953 under the name Danny's Donuts by Harold Butler and Richards Jezak in Lakewood, California. In 1959 it crossed the number 20 when the restaurant named as Denny's to avoid confusion because of other restaurant named as 'Doughnut Dan's'. In 1080 the restaurant was succeeded to expand with 1000 restaurant in all over United States.
In 2004, the segment was aired by the 'Dateline NBC' with the title 'Dirty Dining' in which 10 restaurants including Bob Evans, Waffle House, Red Lobster, Chili's, IHOP, Ruby Tuesday, Applebee's, Outback Steakhouse, TGI's Friday and Denny's was examined. In this examination, Denny's got the fewest violations of the 10 chains.
The restaurant is having the facility of classic dinner, which was opened on May 1997 in Fort Myers, Florida. The idea of the classic dinner was come from the mind of the principals Ron, Marc, Marcia and Todd York. Now, there are about 38 Denny's diners in U.S.
During Super Bowl XLIII, Denny's advertised on TV commercial that their dining chain will give away the signature breakfast during 6 am to 2 pm in all restaurants in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. Superball Bowl XLIII is an American Football Game and was played in between National Football Conference champion Arizona Cardinals and American Football Conference champion Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2008 NFL season. The game was played on February 1, 2009.
