What is Father's Day?

As we know we were only celebrating the mother's day but not father's day where as both the relations are equally important in our life. But now we are also celebrating the father's day. In United Sates it is celebrated on third Sunday of June. The celebration of the father's day was come out from the mind of woman named Sonora Smart Dodd. After the death of her mother, his father was everything for her that she wanted to know her father that how is he so special for her. To express these feelings she got the idea of celebrating the father's day that she used to celebrate it in Spokane, Washington on 19th June 1910 for the first time.

Father's Day

It is the day being celebrated on the third Sunday of June in about 52 countries of the world. However, the dates may be different in different countries. It is being celebrated on variety of dates at different corner of world. The celebration involves giving gifts, special dinner and some other family related activities to father. However, it took long time to make it holiday special. There is some difference behind the feelings of these two days; mother's day met enthusiasm where as father's day laughter.

In United States the day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June in the memory of the large group of men, from which some were fathers and lost their life in an accident happened in 1907 in Monongah, West Virginia. However, it is not a federal holiday; the stores, organizations and businesses can remain closed or open if the celebration day comes on other day apart from than Sunday.
