Jennifer Hudson is one of the finalists of third season of American Idol. Jennifer Kate Hudson is an American recording artists, model and actress and was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 12, 1981. She grown up as Baptists and decided to go to Dunbar Vocational Career Academy. She started singing at the age of seven with church choir community.
The third season of the American idol was started in 2004 and was premiered on January 19, 2004 and was continued until May 26. 2004. Fantasia Barrino has won this season by defeating Diana DeGarmo with 1.3 million votes. It was the highest recorded vote in the history for the show. American Idol 6 featured Jennifer Hudson who is already an Academy Award winner.
The first season have the two females in final where as in second, seventh and eight there were only male contestants. Season three has in all eight final contestants with dominant gender. In season three there were three female finalists where as in season eight there were eight male finalists. The auditions of the shows were held in Los Angels, San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, Houston and Honolulu.
On October 24, 2008 Hudson's family including her mother and 29 year old brother found shot to death at their home in Chicago. After this incident Hudson avoided her performance and appearance to the public. On February 1, 2009 she first came in front of the public and sung a song Star-Spangled Banner at Super Bowl XLIII.
