Jim Furyk
Jim Michael Furyk is an American professional golfer who was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on May 12, 1970. He plays at the top level and because of his ability of plying with high level despite he is being called as the "The Grinder" by his fan. 2006 was a great year for him in which he reached the height of his career in the Official World Golf Rankings. He was with the top-ten position for about 270 weeks from 1999 to 2009.
His father was his teacher on golf under whom Jim started his training of golf in Pittsburgh. He completed his graduation from Manheim Township High school of Lancaster County. In 1988 he was a state champion golfer and along with he was also playing basketball. He collected a victory in at least one tournament for every year on the tour PGA held between 1998 to 2003. During this time he was behind the Tiger woods with position in top ten.
June 16, 2003 was the biggest date for him when he grabbed the biggest win of his career for the lowest 72-hole score in United States Open and won the first major championship. However, he got surgery to repair cartilage damage in wrist in 2004 that made him to lose three months. After that he played for fourteen events but lose his position in top ten. Again he came in top ten in 2005 wining the PGA Tour event.
On the morning of Wednesday, 17 June 2009 he faced the former open winner Geoff Ogilvy at the 2009 US Open Odds. Jim Furyk had a terrific 2009 season as he lose the all tournaments of this year. However, he reached to the second position to Tiger Woods with two of last three events.
