Laura Ling
Laura G. Ling is an American Journalist who was born on December 1, 1976. She is working as a vice president and correspondent for current TV. Laura Ling is a sister of Lisa Ling who is special correspondent of The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN and National Geographic Explorer. Both the sisters raised together in the city of Sacramento after the divorce of their parents. Laura describes herself as an American Chinese.
36 year old Euna Ling moved to US in 1995 and completed her studies in video production from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. Since 2000 she has been working as editor and producer for Current TV. Laura Ling is an air reporter and is working for the TV news and entertainment network of San Francisco.
In March 2009 an issue was happened with these two journalists where they were sentenced to 12 years because of their entry in North Korea. North Korea has declared that two American journalists are trying to enter the country illegally. The North Korean government arrested both the journalists and kept them in the jail for about 140 days. The formal President Bill Clinton helped to free the sisters. Both the sisters has released on August 4, 2009 who reunited with their family and friends on Wednesday after returning to United States with President Bill Clinton.
Bill Clinton was on the diplomatic tour of North Korea that helped both the journalists to come back the United States. Euna and Laura arrived at the Bob Hope Airport of Burbank. Bill Clinton met Kim Jong II, the communist leader regarding to safe release of these American journalists.
