Marcus Williams

Marcus Williams is an American professional basketball player who was born on December 3, 1985 in Los Angeles, California. Currently he is playing for Memphis Grizzlies in the National Basketball Association. He was the twenty second player in the 2006 NBA draft who was selected for the first down round. Before joining the NBA he played first for the University of Connecticut Huskies men's basketball team. Recently that is on July 22, 2008 he was traded to the Golden State Warrirs by the nets for restrictive first round pick.

While his he had started to play at the school level for Crenshaw High School for his 9th, 10th and 11th years and then transferred to Oak Hill Academy for 12th year. In the beginning at UConn, he was also suspended because of poor grades. He was selected 22nd in 2006 NBA Draft along with other players including Rudy Gay, Josh Boone, Denham Brown and Hilton Armstrong. For the year 2007, he was also selected for the Rookie team at the 2007 NBA All-Star Weekend for the 2007 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge.
