Maria Elena Holly
Maria Elena Holly is a nothing but a Mrs. Buddy Holy, a rock and roll pioneer. She was born on 1935 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She worked as a receptionist for 'Music Publisher Peermusic'. After death of Buddy Holy she remarried and now she has three children. She is now living in Dallas, Texas promoting the inheritance of her first husband. In 1978 the movie 'The Buddy Holly Story' related to her life was made in which actress Maria Richwine played role as Santiago-Holly.
Buddy Holly is a professional name of American singer, songwriter and pioneer of rock and roll, Charles Hardin Holley. He was born in Lubbock on September 7, 1936 and died on February 3, 1959. He ended his music career before a year of his death in an airplane crash. His work and creativity inspired to the next musicians including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Don McLean.
He joined the music group Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, which was his first group of music career. He got rank #13 among the Fifty Greatest Artists of All Time in 2004 by a Rolling Stone. His music interest become his profession when he created a music team as 'Buddy and Bob' with Bob Montgomery to whom he met at Hutchison Junior High School.
On February 3, 1959 he died in a small plane crash along with other musicians including Ritchie Valens, J. P. 'The Big Bopper' Richardson and pilot, Roger Peterson. Now the day is called as 'The Day he Music Died' in the song American Pie by Don McLean.
