MRN Radio
MRN is a short form of the Motor Racing Network and is the major radio broadcasting of the race named NASCAR. It is the Voice of NASCAR that broadcasts all major races by Dover International Speedway, Pocono Raceway and International Speedway Corporation. Except these they also broadcast the nationwide series and the NASCAR Sprit Cup Series.
However, in 1995 the broadcasting of all NCTS races was done on MRN radio because of some changes in policies of NASCAR races on radio broadcasting. William H.G. has found the MRN in 1970. He is also the founder of the races NASCAR and Daytona International Speedway.
There is other radio network known as PRN that is Performance Racing Network and Speedway Motorsports Inc. controls it. This network also broadcasts all series of nationwide and NASCAR sanctioned sprit cup. The network also helps to other networks named Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network and IRL IndyCar Series Bombardier Learjet 550.
'1960 Daytona 500' is the first known telecast of a NASCAR race, which was announced by Bud Palmer and was presented as the part of CBS Sports Spectacular. ABC's Wide World of Sports, CBS Sport Spectacular races and Car and Track were the main three foundations of NASCAR telecast. Currently the networks like MRN, PRN and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network are covering the NASCAR races on radio.
The races held from 2002 to 2006 were broadcasted on XM Satellite Radio in United States. In 2007 the rights of broadcasting was moved to SSR (Sirius Satellite Radio) from XM Satellite radio but was again returned to XM in 2008.
