About Olivia Dukakis
Olivia Dukakis is an American actress who was born on June 20, 1931. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to Alexandra and Constantine S. Dukakis. Her family was migrated to United States from Geek. She has done her schooling from Arlington High School in Arlington and degree from Boston University. She married with the actor Louis Zorich.
Her acting career was started with the films Steel Magnolias, Jane Austen's Mafial, Mr. Holland's Opus, Moonstruck and The Thing About My Folks. The film 'Moonstruck' gave her Oscar for the best supporting actress. She also played short roles in the television serials and mini-series. Her appearance in the mini-series 'Tales of the City' earned an Emmy Award nomination. She also appeared in Dolly Sinatra as Frank's mother, which was depended on the life of Frank. She did various roles for films, television and theater that helped her to gain Obie Award, Los Angeles Drama Critics Award, Drama Desk Award and Golden Globe award.
However, this independent star had problem regarding to health in her family. She told to the radio WD while she was interviewing. She told to Woman's day health editor Barbara Brody that her husband is suffered with Type 2 diabetes. But they both think that this problem will be cleared and he will be free from diabetes. His husband has family with the same problem. His family member including three sisters and mother is having diabetes but not his three brothers.
