Pittsburgh Post Gazette
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is one of the largest daily newspapers serving metropolitan Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The newspaper is also known as PG. the publication was started since July 1786 getting encouragement by Hug Henry Brackenridge as a four page weekly. Initially it was called as 'The Gazette'. With the publication in Allegheny Mountains the Pittsburgh became the first publisher of west of Allegheny Mountains. John Scull and Joseph Hall were the publishers of this newspaper.
In 1828 Pittsburgh was sold to Morgan Neville and then it changed to Pittsburgh Gazette. Further the paper was again sold in 1829 to David McClean by Neville. Further in 1844 it became a morning daily paper and meant to help to arrange with another paper. It focused to manage local chapter of the Republican Party along with addition of Abrahm Lincoln. Recently that in on February 2, 2009 the Pittsburgh published the news regarding to the victory of Pittsburgh Steelers over Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII.
Pittsburgh Tribute-Review, which is also known as 'The Trib' is second big newspaper after Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Initially the paper was reporting under the name Greensburg Daily Tribute. 'The Trib' serves for metropolitan Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States. It was funded in 1889 but only in Westmoreland County till 1992. After that it started to serve in Pittsburgh computing Pittsburgh dailies including Pittsburgh Press and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
