January 19th-Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr
February 16th-Birthday of Washington
May 25th-Memorable day
July 4th-Independence Day
September 7th-Labor Day
October 12th-Columbus Day
November 11th-Veterans Day
November 26th-Thanksgiving Day
December 25th-Christmas Day
However, the offices will be closed on official federal holidays but the two schedules will not be same for 2009. According to the United States federal government there are 11 legal holidays but according to postal service observation there are only 10 legal holidays. January 20, 2009 is the official government holiday but the mail will run on this day also.
