Raw Meat Diet
Raw meat diet is very popular diet for dogs these days. The idea of raw meat has been lifted by the health concerns to tackle the problems of risks of foodborne illnesses in pets. According to proponents the raw meat helps to improve performance, body odor, coat, breath and teeth of dogs. However, the racing Greyhounds and sled dogs are being feed from years with the raw meat diet.
Raw food diet is latest most popular diet that is based on uncooked and unprocessed plant foods including fruit, vegetables, meat, seeds, sprouts, grains, nuts, dried fruit, seaweed and beans. It is believed that the food heated above 116 degrees F destroys enzymes in that food, which helps for absorption and digestion for food.
The raw food gives benefits such as better digestion, increased energy, weight loss, reduction in the risk of heart disease and improved skin in appearance. In comparison to Western diet, raw food contains fewer amounts of saturated fats and trans fats. Row diet helps to decrease the risks of diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease.
Raw foodism has now become a lifestyle promoting the use of organic, unprocessed and uncooked food. There are number of books available with the preparation method of the raw food.
