Tom Daschle
Thomas Andrew Daschle is a name of the personality who is a former U. S. Senator and former U. S. Senate Majority Leader. Apart from this he is also a member of Democratic Party. He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on December 9, 1947. He completed his graduation form South Dakota native where he got his degree.
Before his political career he worked in the United States air Force. In 1978 he got elected to the United States House of Representatives and served for about four months. After that he got selected for Senate in 1986 and become minority leader in 1994. In 2004 he beat the re-election and took the position of policy advisor. Along with this he also became a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. Between this he also co-authored a book sponsored a book regarding to health care.
Recently he served as an early supporter of Barack Obama. After the 2008 election he was offered with the position of Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. He was a nominee of President Barack Obama to serve as a Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Cabinet of Obama. However, recently on February 3, 2009, he withdrew his name. Now he is working for DLA Piper a global law firm.
