William Jefferson
William Jefferson is an American politician born on March 14, 1947 in Lake Providence. He is also an author and his publications are published from United States of America, Louisiana. He was a member of Democratic Party and served from 1991 to 2009 as a member of the U. S. of Representatives. William Jefferson is the first black congressman of Louisiana.
In 2006 the FBI raided on his Congressional offices suspecting him under corruption. Later he once again elected but in 2007 come into light with sixteen charges regarding to corruption. In 2008, Joseph Cao of Republican beat him as he was the best politician and senior Democrat. However, he agreed with 11 corruptions from sixteen corruption numbers on August 5, 2009.
Before entering the political field he was working with his eight brothers and sisters to help his father in farming. His father was a farmer but also was working as a heavy-equipment operator for the Army Corps of Engineers. They have some respectability in the community as they were among few American and African families. He married with Andrea Jefferson and the couple has five daughters Jalila Jefferson-Bullock, Jelani Jefferson, Jamila Jefferson-Jones, Jelani Jefferson Exum, Akilah Jefferson and Nailah Jefferson.
His political career was started in 1976 when he moved to New Orleans. He failed to get success for New Orleans mayor. He then become very popular as politician and suggested as a second Africa-American governor.
